Free Games with Real Cash Prizes

For the last few weeks, I have been keeping an eye out for online games which are free to play (no fees, no unnecessary card details etc.) but which offer cash prizes. It turns out, these are few and far between. One game I did have some success with was GeoLotto’s free to play option. With this game, one signs up to the website and receives 50 free digs per day, which are used to dig up prizes on a giant treasure map of the UK. I played this game for a few weeks (checking back everyday) and received a grand total of £10.89. However, it seems that the game has now ended. Indeed, it makes sense that offering free money to players with no catch is not very profitable, and is solely useful from a business point of view to gain new customers. This does suggest though that perhaps other online games may offer a similar opportunity in future, if only for a short promotional period. The key with making money in this way is to remember that the company offering free cash is hoping that you will enjoy the game enough to play with either your winnings or your own cash, and this is exactly what you want to avoid. While you may win a small sum of money (less than a pound) and decide that it is more worthwhile to play this money in the hopes of winning a bigger prize, this is rarely worthwhile, and you will never manage to save a larger amount of money if you spend your winnings every time you receive them. It is important, then, to exercise self control while using this money making method. Furthermore, it is useful to remember that deals like this are rare occurrences, and so it is good to be critical of any new offers that emerge, making sure that there are good recommendations available, and that the small print does not require any payment or subscription fee. Any sort of 30 day free trial is rarely worth the time and effort required to cancel potentially expensive contracts.

Introduction

For a while now I have been wanting to start a blog explaining some of the bizarre ways I’ve found to increase my income or to reduce my expenditure. I’ve noticed that there are many good money saving blogs around, but not so many legitimate reviews of money making techniques. This website hopes to make your money go further without encouraging you to share details with spammers or waste time on online money making ideas that aren’t worth your while. As a result, I hope to establish a comprehensive rating system for the techniques reviewed on this website, to make some more complicated processes clearer.
